Hill was truly tired of the guesswork, from the "low, medium, high" or "0-10" heat settings that varied wildly from stove to stove to the dangerous habit of guessing pan temperature with your hand.

In late 2022, in a world of modern digital devices, AI, and advanced robotics, Hill was amazed that our kitchens were still stuck in the past, having changed little since the 2000s. He searched for a stove with precise temperature control that could directly connect recipes to the cooking process, eliminating the hassle of constantly monitoring the temperature to ensure it was right. But every "smart" appliance he found fell short. They were glorified remote controls with companion mobile apps, not fundamental cooking improvements.

Determined to find a better way, Hill and his team built one themselves.
